Over the past 1.5 years, our experience with RP Design has unfortunately been very challenging. As long-time Oakville residents who value being respectful and considerate neighbours, we were surprised by the number of concerns that arose during the construction across the street from us by RP Design or more specifically Rutnaish Prihar - who claims on her website; 'Making the entire process feel like a negative experience.' Yes agreed... 'Working with both the architect, builder and trades, we’ll oversee your project taking care of every last detail, to ensure your project runs smoothly and in a timely manner so you’ll have a beautiful home, and nothing but wonderful experience to savour forever.' Questionable...not just by our opinion but many others in the community and industry trades. We have had to file many formal complaints with the Town of Oakville regarding safety issues, trade parking in ways that obstructed our driveway, work being conducted on statutory holidays, cameras installed twice on Town property that were directed toward our home and required removal. Despite polite requests not to block the end of our driveway, the response from the solo developer was that it was “public property,” which made constructive dialogue very difficult. More recently, exterior halogen lights were installed that remain on at all hours of the day and night, fully illuminating the front bedrooms of our home. Attempts to raise this concern have not resulted in any meaningful change but will be addressed. While I appreciate that the contractor is an independent, self-taught operator, our experience suggests there is a lack of sensitivity to neighbours, limited communication skills, and little attention to the impact her work has on the surrounding community. Based on what we have seen firsthand, I would encourage prospective clients to exercise caution and to ensure they are comfortable with her approach to communication, property boundaries, and regulatory compliance before proceeding with any project. I have provided a photo to demonstrate the latest insensitivity to our concerns and latest installation of her halogen lights that are on 24/7 and shine in one of our daughters rooms.
